VIENNA TWP., Ohio - In Vienna Township, payday for employees, including firefighters, is every Tuesday. However, this week, some employees experienced delays of up to 12 hours before their pay reached their bank accounts.

Fiscal Officer Jason Miner explained that the issue was caused by a failure in the backup payroll system.

"Every 30 days you're required to back it up as I normally do. [When] I inserted my thumb drive to back it up...the backup failed. I could not compress the file, so I had to try various things. I spent over three hours trying to find a way to make it back up," Miner said.

The fiscal officer stated that when he learned about the delay, he informed several department heads that the funds were on their way to employees' bank accounts.
