Firefighters worked to put out a structure fire at one of the buildings at the Norwich State Hospital campus on Laurel Hill Road Tuesday morning. The cause of the fire is unclear. Another building on the property also caught on fire in June.
The property has been abandoned since the late 1990s. The ownership is split up between Norwich and Preston. The Norwich Community Development Corporation owns 50 acres of the old hospital campus. The Preston Redevelopment Agency and Mohegan own 393 acres.
