GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The little things mean the most to Lillian Barrett.

A sink with running water. A couch to relax on. Time with her daughter. A year ago, she didn't have any of those things.

"It was very depressing ... I didn't know where I was going to take a bath at. I didn't know where we were going to get our next meal from," Barrett said.

Barrett and her daughter were homeless, living in her car and sleeping at Pomona Park and then living with her sister. A perfect storm put her in the situation.

"They cut my hours to like two days a week, four hours a day, and I couldn't pay my rent, ... so I fell behind on my rent, and then I ended up getting put out," Barrett said.
