SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Ron Parsons has been confirmed for U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota.
On April 1, Parsons was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve a second term in this possition. Tuesday, Parsons was confirmed by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune issued a congratulations on X.
"Congratulations to Ron Parsons on being confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota. Ron has already proved he has what it takes to be a great U.S. attorney, and I know he’ll continue to work hard for the people of South Dakota," posted Thune.
His confirmation comes as part of a package of 107 nominees that was being decided on amid the current government shutdown.
