A series of prison guards at the Marcy Correctional Facility effectively turned into a gang on the night of Dec. 9, 2024, according to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick. They brutally attacked an inmate, Robert L. Brooks, Fitzpatrick said, showing a depraved indifference toward him that ultimately led to his death.
