KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A woman who witnessed a stabbing near the World War I Museum and Memorial on Sunday morning said trusting her instincts may have saved her life and helped her assist the victim.
Courtney Carson was walking to Union Station with her sister around 9:45 a.m. to watch the new Taylor Swift movie when she said she noticed a man following them.
That man, later identified by investigators as Austin Lewis , would go on to allegedly stab a sidewalk cleaning worker after the victim didn’t respond to a request for a dollar due to a language barrier.
“I’m always pretty observant of what’s going around me and I noticed he stopped, turned around and was following us,” Carson said.
Carson and her sister crossed the street to get away from Lewis, but she continued watching a
