Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say two men were caught on camera stealing wallets from elderly women in stores across the city, then using their credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars in purchases.
Investigators say Nathaniel Porter III and Virgil Mozee worked together to steal wallets from at least three women shopping at Walgreens, Kroger and Meijer. The suspects were seen on surveillance video reaching into purses or carts, when victims weren’t looking.
“The suspects were stealing wallets from elderly people,” Sgt. Joe Keeling with LMPD said.
According to police, the pair immediately used the stolen cards to buy prepaid Visa cards, racking up $5,013.92 before the victims realized what had happened.
