NAUGATUCK, Conn. — As Naugatuck 's downtown revitalization project, which began in March, nears its completion, the ongoing road construction has been difficult for area residents, workers and visitors.

Deva Yilmaz, whose family owns A1 Pizza on Rubber Avenue, said the past six months of construction have slowed business with the road detours and traffic backups, making it harder for people to get to their shop and for them to deliver food.

"It's slowed down our business because a lot of people would pick up before this construction, and this construction's been going on for six months straight, so the roads have been so busy and overpacked," Yilmaz said.
