STILLWATER — Logan Ward has been successful in “putting it between the pipes” for Oklahoma State this season.
The senior kicker had never heard that term until Cowboys interim coach Doug Meacham mentioned it to him.
“He goes ‘that’s pretty good.’ He says it to me every day. We do knuckles every day,” Meacham said. “To me, he feels like a much more confident player. A lot more confidence. He’s made some kicks that look like he’s a lot more confident.
“It’s been fun to be around him. In the spring, maybe not so much. Camp? Eh. But once the season started, I just saw a more confident kid.”
Ward has connected on 9-of-10 kicks this season. He made the first eight until a wide-right miss at Arizona this past weekend.
