SEVIERVILLE—Morristown East knew it had lots of work do going into Monday night’s satellite matches in the District Two 3-A Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Hurricanes passed a must-win test by sweeping past Cocke County but then came the task of facing defending tournament champion and this year’s regular season co-champion Sevier County on its home floor where they had been swept themselves three weeks ago.

East started the long night with a methodical 25-11, 25-16, 25-14 win to eliminate the Lady Red.

However, the Bearettes dealt the Lady ‘Canes an embarrassing 25-8 setback in the opening set and had a commanding 19-14 advantage in the second set and seemed well on their way to a victory.
