GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol (WSP) says one person is dead after a car crash involving a semi-truck in Grant County on Tuesday morning.
WSP says at 10:40 a.m., a car was going north on SR-218 by milepost 2 and a semi-truck was going southbound.
A preliminary report states that the car crossed the center line and then hit the semi-truck. The car stopped in the northbound ditch while the semi-truck stopped in a southbound ditch.
WSP says the driver of the car, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured during the crash.
Deputies say the driver of the car was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but the semi-truck driver was.
The name of the person who died is not available at this time. WSP is waiting to hear back from
