The Dallas Zoo is announcing the arrival of a 5-foot-8-inch-tall, 156-pound baby.
A healthy male reticulated giraffe calf was born to mother Katie and father Tebago on September 24.

The zoo also shared a video that showed the baby giraffe was quick to his feet, standing within an hour and even testing out his new, albeit wobbly, legs after nursing.

“Welcoming a new calf is always a joyful moment for our Zoo family and our community,” said Tina Cloutier Barbour, the Dallas Zoo's Associate VP of Animal Care and Welfare. “Every birth helps contribute to the long-term conservation of this incred
