FREDERICK — The last time that Erie softball made a push toward the Class 5A state tournament, sophomore Keyanna Reeves could only watch. A torn ACL confined her to the bench.

Last year, the Tigers secured the No. 11 seed for the season’s final competition, but met a swift exit with a loss to eventual state champion Riverdale Ridge in the first round.

This season, they’re not just looking at a bid for the state tournament. They have a high probability of hosting a regional thanks to their No. 5 ranking in CHSAA’s Selection & Seeding Index.
