NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Rain or shine is both the question leading up to MumFest this Saturday and Sunday, and the plan.

“We’ve never cancelled a MumFest; we did reschedule the one after Hurricane Florence. It was three weeks later, but it was just a reschedule. But I think there could have been one years ago that maybe got canceled, but we’ve always had a rain or shine event,” Swiss Bear Executive Director Karen Sullivan told WITN.

While the festival will go on, regardless of potential rain, organizers Swiss Bear and the City of New Bern are still taking precautions.

“We’re going to watch the wind gusts on Friday, and so it could impact what time we do load in based on what those wind gusts are. But for us, it’s still too far out. We did have a meeting with the city this morning, and w
