Grant brings short-term training, long-term impact to STCC, workforce

SPRINGFIELD — A $500,000 state grant to Springfield Technical Community College announced Tuesday will train 120 unemployed or underemployed workers with in-demand information technology and cybersecurity skills.

And the workforce grant will provide English-as-a-second-language training for those who need it. The grant also will place those students in jobs at employers including Baystate Health and the Springfield Public Schools, said John B. Cook , STCC president.
