BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - The results are in for the primary to decide the ballot for the Burlington city council election.

The city primary election was held Tuesday.

The six candidates with the most votes will advance to the city general election.

The results are in and advancing includes:

Council member candidates

Jon D. Billups (incumbent mayor) - 660 votes, 19.50%

Antoinette Wilson - 455 votes, 13.45%

Antonio Bailey - 383 votes, 11.32%

Robert Critser - 383 votes, 11.32%

Jerry Johnson - 369 votes, 10.90%

Jeremy Kemp - 336 votes, 9.93%

The council selects the mayor from its members, and members are elected every two years, according to Burlington’s website .

Terry Schnack, Christopher A. Roepke, Cevin R. Cox. Jr., and Robert Gerritsen will not advance to the November ballo
