CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Before she was chasing fugitives across the frozen tundra, Haley Bennett was fishing for walleye with her dad on Lake Erie. The actress, known for her roles in “The Girl on the Train,” “Swallow” and “Cyrano,” says growing up in Northeast Ohio helped her stay grounded through a career that’s taken her around the world.
“I had a very nomadic upbringing, but I did spend some time in Stow and I still have family in Akron,” Bennett said in an interview with cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer. “I spent a lot of summers on Lake Erie, going fishing with my dad.”
In fact, she said her father, who lives in Norton, recently visited her on the set of her next movie in Kentucky — and brought a cooler of walleye with him.
