OREGON CITY Ore. (KPTV) - One year after Clackamas Community College wrestler Lee Mauras was shot and killed in downtown Portland, his team continues to honor his memory - while waiting for answers in the ongoing homicide investigation.

The 22-year-old Mauras was gunned down in a parking lot near West Burnside and 3rd Avenue in the early morning hours of Oct. 6, 2024.

His presence still fills the wrestling room where he once trained, according to his teammates and coaches.

“We have things all around,” said Brett Sanchez, the school’s wrestling coach. “On the white board we wrote ‘We got you Lee’ with a heart. We have a plaque in the window, we have his t shirt hanging up in my office, we always have daily reminders.”
