TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) — A semi-truck crash on Interstate 35 sent one person to the hospital and closed southbound lanes Tuesday evening, forcing traffic onto alternate routes.
The crash happened around 7:51 p.m. at mile marker 303 on southbound I-35, according to Temple police. The 18-wheeler struck a concrete wall and jack-knifed, leaving the truck partially hanging over a bridge railing.
According to officials, Grones was requested due to gas and oil spilling across the roadway. The Texas Department of Transportation also responded to assist with the scene.
Southbound traffic is being rerouted onto the loop while crews work to clear the wreckage. Police said they are working to reopen at least one southbound lane.
