CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - are Iowa National Guardsmen who were deployed this last spring.

Tim Nash joined the Army after college. At the age of 23, he was looking for a way to help pay for more college classes, but after some time in the military, he said he learned the importance of his role.
“In 2004,2005, things in Iraq and Afghanistan were really kicking off,” he said. “Feeling the responsibility for those soldiers was what really kind of weighed heavily on me.”
During his 20 years of service, Nash had two tours in Iraq and has also seen the government shut down three different times.
