CLARKSON VALLEY — Versatility isn’t just a virtue, it’s the key to success for the Marquette girls volleyball team.
Senior Maggie Smith set that tone last season by learning the setter position on the fly. This year, freshman Danaya Petkova continued the team-first mentality by learning the back row.
“My teammates specifically, I think it shows that they trust their teammates, like, allowing us to get to learn how to play these new positions and just trusting that we will do our job,” Smith said. “I think, for Danaya and I, I think it just shows that, like, we're really determined to win for our team.”
