A Bridgewater mother and daughter are set to face animal cruelty charges on Wednesday in connection with the deaths of two dogs who perished earlier this year after being left in a hot car for over an hour and a half, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Lisa and Rachel Smith, aged 59 and 32, are summonsed to appear in Brockton District Court on charges of cruelty to animals and confinement of an animal in a motor vehicle causing exposure to extreme heat, the district attorney’s office said in a press release. It is unclear what time their arraignment will take place on Wednesday.
