Internationally renowned chef Gordon Ramsay has praised Tasmania during a video interview with Condé Nast Traveller for the Readers' Choice Awards 2025.

Mr Ramsay said he was blown away by the fresh seafood off Tasmanian coastlines while recounting his favourite food destinations from around the world.

"What I was blown away with was the spiney lobsters - those things were like four feet long," he said.

Even when Mr Ramsay saw a Great White Shark while diving for lobster, it didn't stop him from grabbing the goods.

"I had my hand on the lobster and thought I've got the prized asset," he said.

Mr Ramsay was equally impressed by the range of whiskys made on the Apple Island, calling them some of the "best in the world".
