NILES An Austintown woman wanted for arson remained in the Trumbull County Jail on $200,000 bond early Wednesday after authorities say she led police on a chase that ended in a crash.
A bail bondsman told Niles Police late Monday that a woman spotted driving an SUV in the city had a warrant for her arrest on an arson charge.
A Niles city patrol car caught up with the SUV near the intersection of Routes 422 and 46 around midnight and gave chase.
The two-and-a-half-mile-long pursuit ended when the SUV crashed into a utility pole at Wood Avenue and Mahoning Avenue SE.
The fire department was called to remove the driver, identified as 32-year-old Victoria Dobroka, from the car. She was taken to St. Joseph Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
