Drivers using a major Dumfries road face more roadworks misery later this month. ‌

Amey is carrying out further work on the A701 as it makes “essential visibility improvements”. ‌

It’s the latest major disruption on the stretch of road running through Heathhall and Locharbriggs this year. ‌

The work in the Locharbriggs area will run from Monday, October 20 until Friday, October 31 and involve lane closures and temporary traffic lights.

An Amey spokeswoman said the work will include “kerb re-lining, new signage and new road markings”.
