Most people who receive Social Security get one check a month based on their birthdate.

Each month, the Social Security Administration issues payments to Americans who qualify for this benefit so they are able to cover living expenses, from food to housing to medical care.

But this month is a little different for certain Social Security recipients who will receive two checks during the month of October.

Those who receive Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, usually get paid on the first of the month.

But because the first of the month for November falls on a weekend, SSI recipients will be receiving their November monthly check in October.
