The Bombay High Court has refused to allow Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra to travel abroad unless they first deposit Rs 60 crore, the same amount involved in a cheating case registered against them. The order came on Wednesday, October 8, as the couple sought permission to travel for professional and personal reasons.

The case was filed in August at Mumbai’s Juhu police station, where businessman Deepak Kothari accused the couple of duping him of Rs 60 crore through a loan-cum-investment deal linked to their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.

The Allegations and the Case

According to the complaint, Kothari alleged that between 2015 and 2023, the couple persuaded him to invest heavily in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, a home shopping and e-commerce venture co-founded by Shetty and Kundr
