Chikkamagaluru: In an incident reported from Mudigere town, an Anganawadi teacher was killed and a lawyer was grievously injured as a crane ran over their scooter after the driver lost control over machine.

The deceased teacher is identified as Sampreetha. The pillion rider Sujatha, who is a lawyer, is learned to have sustained intense injuries in the accident and is being treated at the Mudigere Government Hospital.

The accident, which occurred on Hesagal Road in Mudigere, was reportedly due to a technical problem in the crane and brake failure.
