Dolly Parton ’s sister Freida Parton will always love her.

And it's part of the reason she asked the public for prayers as the “Jolene” singer dealt with some health challenges. But after Freida’s comments sparked concern among fans, the 68-year-old—one of Dolly’s 11 siblings—clarified her request.

“I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” Freida wrote in an Oct. 7 Facebook post . “She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.”

Adding it was “nothing more” than a little sister looking after her big sister, Freida added, “Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
