Former FBI Director James Comey will appear in a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, for his arraignment on Wednesday (October 8), weeks after President Donald Trump publicly called for him to be prosecuted, NBC News reports.
Comey, 64, a former Republican who was fired by Trump during his first administration in 2017, was indicted on two counts, making a false statement and obstruction of a congressional proceeding, last month in relation to his testimony during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 2017 in which he claimed that he didn't leak information regarding the FBI's investigations into Trump or his 2016 election opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton . The president had previously called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to charge Comey in a
