For anyone who has ever cursed at technology, Office Space provided the ultimate outlet: a slow-motion demolition of an office printer in a grassy field, set to gangsta rap. Decades later, it’s back in circulation.

This time, the printer survives.

In a hilarious new advertising campaign, HP enlisted Ron Livingston, who starred in the 1999 cult comedy, to re-enact the infamous scene. Instead of smashing the machine to pieces, however, Livingston spares it.

“All these years later, people still come back to that one iconic scene — because we’ve all been there. So when HP pitched revisiting it, with the twist that they’ve actually solved the pain we’ve all felt in that moment, I knew it would be a lot of fun to shoot.”

A nod, HP says, that this isn’t just a wink
