SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

A Delta breeze will pick up this afternoon, capping regional highs at unseasonably cool values.

Valley highs will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s. In the foothills, afternoon highs will climb to the mid to upper 70s, while highs in the Sierra will be in the upper 60s.

As a low-pressure system approaches from the Pacific Northwest, onshore breezes persist and high temperatures continue to cool into the low 70s by the end of the week. There is a chance of showers Friday night and Saturday morning as the system passes, with most, if not all, of the rainfall occurring north of Sacramento.
