SARTELL, Minn. — Sartell's police chief says a 12-year-old boy has died following a bike crash in central Minnesota earlier in the week.

Raghav Shrestha, a seventh grader at Sartell-St. Stephen Middle School was wearing a helmet but was severely injured after crashing while riding his bike on "Muskie Hill."

Shrestha's friend called 911. A Samaritan named Gary Wassen was walking his dog when he noticed the friend pacing and came over to help.

Wassen is a CPR instructor and began lifesaving measures on Shrestha when he realized the boy was not breathing and did not have a pulse. The boy regained his vitals and was transported to HCMC for more advanced care. On Monday night, he was listed in critical condition and was on life support.
