The case against a former part-time Ida schools crossing guard was dismissed Tuesday, Oct. 7, by Judge Christian Horkey in 1st District Court.

According to the defendant's lawyer, Haralambos Mihas, the prosecution was not ready to proceed with the case against Timothy Warthen II. Mihas made a motion to dismiss it, which Horkey granted. The Monroe County Prosecutor's Office declined to comment on why they did not pursue the case.
