The organizer of an online fundraising campaign created to support two girls orphaned Sunday morning when Keswick house burned down hopes to equip the children with food and clothes and pay the funeral expenses for their parents.

Ashley and Steve Williams, both 37, perished after the Sunday blaze at their home on Starry Sky Lane in the village east of Charlottesville.

”It’s very important to us that we take care of our family,” Jason Tetterton, the fire chief of the the East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Company, told The Daily Progress.

Tetterton said he was close to Stephen Williams, but his predecessor, former Chief Dwayne Williams, was even closer because those two men were brothers who jointly ran a painting company as well as Hidden Gem, a sports card and collectibles shop in nearby Palm
