The Senate approves David Waterman to be U.S. attorney for the Des Moines-based Southern District of Iowa and Leif Olson for the same post in the Northern District, based in Cedar Rapids.

President Donald Trump nominated both, and President Joe Biden previously had nominated Waterman but failed to get a vote.

The nominees for Iowa’s two open U.S. attorney positions have won U.S. Senate approval as a part of a bloc of 107 of President Donald Trump’s picks to fill judicial and administrative openings.
