FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- The $14.1 million renovation of the Gemini Center’s natatorium recently achieved monumental milestones.

The city reported that one of the biggest stages of the project involved a crane removing old HVAC rooftop units (RTU) and two 16,000-pound pool air handling units.

An online city post read: “Those units were responsible for many of the issues that led to this project.

“The addition of the new RTUs has caused some air flow issues and abnormally warm temperatures in the building. This should be resolved soon, when all of the variable air volume (VAV) controls are replaced.”

The latter replacement will be taking place over the next few weeks, as will the replacement of windows in the northwest corner of the fitness floor and the skylight.
