NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- The North Olmsted Police and Service departments are teaming up for the purchase of 13 new Flock Condor cameras.

“Years ago, the service department put up cameras along Lorain Road,” Police Chief Bob Wagner said.

“They utilize those cameras to monitor the weather and traffic flow.

“The police department did not have access to those cameras, which did not record.”

The service department cameras are nearing their end of life, which is why the two departments are coming together for the $39,000 purchase of new cameras.

The expenditure, which equates to $3,000 for each Flock camera, comes out of the hotel/motel tax fund that accounts for the city’s 3 percent hotel/motel tax receipts.
