OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio -- City Council recently approved a six-month extension -- through April 8 -- to the city’s moratorium on residential development.

“Last April, I introduced legislation for a one-year moratorium that would place a temporary pause on new residential permits,” Mayor James Graven said.

“At that time, council passed legislation for only a six-month moratorium.

“I’m glad that council has now agreed with me to ultimately have a one-year moratorium.”

Law Director Max Reiker said the initial temporary moratorium on new residential development allowed City Council to study the impacts of new residential development on municipal facilities and services.
