The newly elected mayor of a German town was stabbed multiple times at home by her teenage daughter, investigators announced Wednesday.

Iris Stalzer’s daughter initially reported her mother was attacked in a street robbery, but police found the assault occurred indoors.

Stalzer, 57, is no longer in danger and identified her 17-year-old daughter as the suspect during questioning Tuesday evening.
