INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have made a move to sign an experienced option at a weak-side linebacker spot that has been tricky to fill ever since the team decided to let E.J. Speed leave for the Texans in free agency.

Indianapolis has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt, a league source confirmed to IndyStar, landing a starter who spent the first six seasons of his NFL career working with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Pratt has a chance to play right away against the Cardinals on Sunday.

“We’ll see how the week goes, but yeah, he’s obviously got a lot of familiarity with (the scheme),” Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen said.
