YOUNGSTOWN The investigation continues into a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Youngstown.

Dispatchers got a phone call shortly after noon that the Huntington Bank branch on Market Street, near Vermont Avenue, had been robbed.

A bank employee told police that a man in his 40s entered the bank and waited in line. Once at the teller station, the suspect demanded all $100 and $50 bills. The suspect, who did not appear to be armed, then fled in an unknown direction.

The bank was placed on lockdown until authorities arrived. Youngstown Police detectives, the YPD Crime Lab, and the FBI took control of the investigation.

A bank spokesperson confirmed the robbery and stated that no one was injured. The branch temporarily closed following the incident.
