Hurricane Priscilla has begun weakening in the Pacific Ocean, but is still forecast to bring heavy rainfall and high surf conditions to portions of the Pacific coast of Mexico.
The National Hurricane Center said in an Oct. 8 advisory Priscilla was located about 190 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California with maximum sustained winds near 100 mph with higher gusts. Forecasters said that while additional weakening is expected during the next 48 hours, a tropical storm watch is in effect for Baja California Sur from Cabo San Lucas to Cabo San Lazaro.
