Mujica breaks Newman record

Newman Catholic freshman Alexis Mujica continued her phenomenal 2025 season with a personal-best time of 19:13.6 at the Dike-New Hartford Invite on Tuesday night. She broke the career-best time at Newman by 41 seconds. She placed fourth against some of the best runners in the state.

Osage’s Scarlett Byrnes had her season-best time of 18:51.1. She won the race by over 12 seconds. She has had a great senior season and looks to carry it over into the state race in the next few weeks.

Mason City tops Waterloo East

The Mason City Riverhawks won their fifth game of the year with a win over the Trojans. They won in five sets: 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-12.
