Dolly Parton's sister has clarified her comments after she asked for prayers regarding the country star's health.

Freida Parton, a younger sister of the singer , said she wanted to "clear something up" in a Facebook post on Oct. 7.

"I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly," she said. "She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister."

She thanked her followers for lifting her sister up, adding, "Your love truly makes a difference."
