LIVINGSTON MANOR – Rockland Central School District Superintendent John Evans is stepping down from his post at the end of November as he enters retirement.
Evans’ career in education has spanned over 30 years, serving as a coach, teacher and administrator.
He has been a superintendent for 15 years, having previously led the Roscoe, Livingston Manor and Downsville school districts.
Leading all three districts simultaneously from January 2017 through June 2022, Evans served as the first three-way shared superintendent in the state.
The board of education will work with Sullivan BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Robert Dufour to select an interim superintendent by December
