CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland police are investigating after a mother reported her bubbly, sweet five-year-old daughter was beaten, assaulted and scalped.

What happened to Antavia Kennibrew’s daughter is something most people will have a hard understanding.

“I literally saw the worst thing ever! I saw my daughter unrecognizable,” described Kennibrew.

Cleveland police have not released many details, though said the victims and suspects are under the age of 10.

“I couldn’t wrap my head around it,” said Kennibrew

For her daughter’s safety, Kennibrew is not sharing her daughter’s name.

But she sat down with 19 News to explain what happened that day.

She said back on Sept. 13, she had dropped her daughter off at a family member’s home near 145th and St. Clair.
