BAINBRIDGE, Ind. — A Putnam County woman who was reported missing a week ago when her house was found on fire has been found alive.

Britney Gard, 46, was found in a wooded area about 2 1/2 miles from her home in Bainbridge, Indiana on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Family members posted to the "Find Britney Gard" Facebook page around 7 p.m., announcing she was found alive a week after she was last seen.

"Thank you to everyone who helped bring our sister home!" the post read.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed Gard was found, but only details about where she was found and that she was receiving medical attention are being shared by officials at this time. Family members told 13News Gard was at a hospital Wednesday evening.
