LANSING — A little more than a year after the last Rite Aid locations in Michigan closed their doors, the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow has made a step to fill a gap.

On the southeast corner of Michigan and Pennsylvania avenues across from the hospital parking garage, sits the newly-opened pharmacy, urgent care and occupational health services center. UM Health-Sparrow announced the plans to rehabilitate the space at 1004 E. Michigan Ave. in late 2024.

Margaret Dimond, UM Health-Sparrow regional president, said the project required a full demolition and rehabilitation of the interior.
