FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and the Fresno County Board of Supervisors took some time during their meeting yesterday to recognize local agencies that help empower people to overcome abusive relationships.

One of those acknowledged was Fresno's Marjaree Mason Center.

The non-profit is Fresno County's only dedicated provider and shelter for domestic violence and support services.

Each year, the Center provides thousands of individuals and families with critical and often lifesaving services including a 24/7 helpline and crisis response.
